Man leaves $10,000 in winnings at Las Vegas airport

According to the El Paso Times, a man left two envelopes filled with $5,000 each in the Las Vegas International Airport. A good Samaritan found the envelopes and — after seeing their contents — worked to get them returned to Ignacio Marquez, the man who'd "forgotten" them at the airport.

Either that represented 5 percent of Marquez's total winnings, or he should be dropkicked in the face. Or both.

From El Paso Times:

Just when El Pasoan Ignacio Marquez thought his luck had run out in Las Vegas, Coloradoan Mitch Gilbert became his ace in the hole.
On Dec. 6, according to a story that first aired on Denver's 9News, Marquez lost two envelopes each filled with $5,000 in cash -- his gambling winnings from Caesars Palace -- at McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas.
Gilbert picked up the envelopes, initially not knowing exactly what was in them. Once he found out it was money, he worked tirelessly to get the money back to its owner.
He succeeded two days before Christmas.
By that time, Marquez had lost all hope, thinking his luck had run out.
"I found out on the plane. I felt real, real bad," said Marquez, 54, who declined to be photographed for security reasons. (full story)
